Hey there. Quick personal note: It’s been a long time since I’ve been here. Let’s be honest though, no one ever predicted what the past two years would bring. In that time, I hunkered down and focused on finishing Patriot-1: Conviction and trying to figure out what I wanted to do next creatively. Lop that on top of remote learning for three kids and then being the caretaker of those kids during the day and picking up freelance work here and there and you get the idea.
But with all of that, Patriot-1: Conviction crossed the finish line. Kickstarter fulfillment is complete and it’s time to charge ahead! So what’s the plan, you say?
First and foremost, I’m running backend improvements to this very website and I will be improving the online store. There have been some issues over the past year or so and every time I think they are resolved, they are indeed not. With that will come the addition of Patriot-1: Conviction, both physical and digital to the shop, so if you missed the Kickstarter, don’t want to wait until it’s in shops or just want to buy direct, you’ll have your chance soon!
We’re looking into new distribution for the Patriot-1 books (and future graphic novels) to get them out into comic shops and bookstores on a wider scale. Additionally, part of the shop improvements will likely include a wholesale option for retailer to buy the book directly from us.
We’ll also be looking into doing more Patriot-1 stories outside of the main graphic novel series… More on that soon.
The next step is finishing The Atomic Thunderbolt. This was something I wanted to do by mid-2021, but the pandemic really threw a wrench in those plans. Well, the good news is Issues 4 and 5 are done, they just need colors and letters, and the over-sized issue 6 conclusion in well into production. Rather than do a separate Kickstarter campaign for the remaining 3 issues, I will be doing one campaign later this year for the entire collection. It’ll be a graphic novel with the final 3 issues also available on their own. It’s been a long time and I want to finally wrap up The Atomic Thunderbolt.
Also this year, we’ll be debuting a new horror anthology series entitled Riptide Sanitarium from Keith Dallas and Jim Beard. Stay tuned for more on that very soon!
It’s been an interesting two years to say the least, but one thing I’ve wanted to do give TJ Comics a bit of a fresh start and that’s my goal going forward.
Lastly, I’ve been involved in comics and entertainment for a long time. I’ve got a wide range of skills, experience and I take a lot of pride in the presentation and production of my books. I want to help other people make their books come to life and I’ll be offering a range of services for anyone looking for some helpful insight.
That’s all for now! I hope you’ll check out our books and come along for the ride!
